Weinam Creek Redevelopment – Stage 1
Footbridge and pathways now open for public use, improving the connection between the northern and southern side of Weinam Creek.
As part of Stage 1 of Council’s Weinam Creek Priority Development Area (PDA), the new footbridge and pathways are now open for public use.
Final touches to be added to the car park on Moores Road include the installation of permanent security cameras. The car park is expected to open for public use in September 2020.
The footbridge and pathways, open for public use, connect the southern side of the creek to the Marina ferry terminal on the northern side.
The addition of the new car parking area on Moores Road is an integral part of the overall masterplan and will serve as overflow parking while works on the northern side of the creek commence.
The overall masterplan will be submitted to Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) for assessment in late 2020.
Works for improving Hamilton Street are also planned to begin in late 2020.
Once the overall masterplan has been lodged, it will be available for public consultations. Submissions can be made to EDQ. Keep an eye out for further
communication on the overall masterplan.
